I think the point being made here is that The Avengers has made this in it's first month....don't you think?

DarkBlood4343d ago

i cant even imagine what the next one will make plus the eventual Justice league film as well

this is going to explode big time in a good way

alycakes4343d ago

I'm thinking the second one will do as well if not better but only if Joss Whedon is still associated with the movie.

zeddy4343d ago

this will be overtaken by dk rises next month.

Defectiv3_Detectiv34343d ago

Not if the Avengers inflated 3-D ticket pricing has anything to say about it!

Nes_Daze4343d ago

Nah, even though DK will have a better storyline, better actors, better ...well almost everything except mindless action, it might not surpass Avengers because simply put, it's a darker film. Besides, people like mindless action flicks over something more plot-driven.

Angels37854343d ago

I beg to differ because the first dark knight created a milestone, the new one seems to be gathering MUCH more attention due to the public interest of the first....but time will tell.

KwietStorm_BLM4343d ago

There was nothing mindless about The Avengers. Batman has always been very deep with intricate plots, we all know this, but everything about The Avengers was well done.

Kurylo3d4342d ago

no the avengers was pretty mindless... u had to suspend your brain not to question things in order to really enjoy it. But that part was easy because its a funny entertaining action packed ride. Dont confuse an intricate plot with great depth of christopher nolan dark knight films with a shallow action packed plot of the avengers.

Tough to say, looking at numbers pulled off of Boxofficemojo:

Avengers
Domestic: 552M
Overseas: 802M
Total: 1.355B

Dark Knight
Domestic: 533M
Overseas: 468M
Total: 1.001B

Dark Knight Rises is going to need a lot higher overseas numbers if it's going to pass Avengers.

Even if Dark Knight Rises was to pass Avatar for highest domestic gross of 760M It'll still need to pull 200M+ more from overseas.

It'll be close for sure.

Congrats to Avengers movie. I was a great movie. Definitely deserve the attention. Hope Spider-man reboot can ride on this too or it'll be sandwiched between Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises.

Canas20104342d ago

I plan on seeing all of them multiple times. I think they all deserve to be in the top 5.
