5 (Mostly) Surprising No-Shows at SDCC 2014

From Cinelinx:

Quick as it came, the San Diego Comic-Con is now behind us. While there was plenty of things shown at the event for fans to digest, there were some notable absences as well this year. Rumors had been swirling for months about what would be showcased, and now that the event’s over I was surprised at some of the no-shows.

Good post - All very valid points made there. I expected SOMETHING from all those mentioned.

I know, right? Hearing nothing from Fox about X-Force (that they announced last year) and next Summer's Fantastic Four was just odd.

I think that they just don't have enough to show/talk about yet from pretty well all those things but it occurred to me today that, WB didn't say anything about their plans and that left me wondering why the long development for BvS. We still have almost 2yrs to wait for a movie that will likely be in post production by mid-end of Sept.

darklordzor3549d ago

Exactly. I think they had something planned, but didn't want to do it on the heels of all that stuff leaking. They want to do it on their own time.

I'm really wondering what Marvel is waiting for. They've not been shy about detailing their plans in advance in the past, so why are they clamming up now?

Crazay3549d ago

I think it's because Ant-Man is still being viewed as something of a Clusterfuck. They want to shore up all the right pieces

darklordzor3549d ago

That's possible, but it feels like they would have at least mentioned Doctor Strange, or done something to divert attention away from the cluster.

Star Wars was the biggest one, but obviously forgiven since they're still filming. Surprised by Jurassic World, but Pratt was probably too busy doing Guardians tours, lol.

I think Disney is holding out on Star Wars and Marvel for D23. Sucks, but I believe that is what is happening.

Crazay3548d ago

Could be right - When does that happen? In the fall?

Soldierone3547d ago (Edited 3547d ago )

I thought it was, but according to their site it isn't until August (next year) :/

I just remember at the last one they basically had a Star Wars day, and thats where a lot of the little details we have so far started leaking out.
