Indiana Jones Taking the James Bond Path?

LR

Before we get into this nugget of info, let’s give you a quick cinematic history lesson.

Uncle George and Spielberg took a little trip to Hawaii in May 1977 during the release of Star Wars. While soaking up the sun and drinking Mojitos on the beach, Spielberg mentioned how much he’d love to direct a James Bond movie.

The man in flannel (Lucas) hit him with an idea he was toying with based upon the cliffhanger adventure serials of the 1930s. Three years later, Spielberg was directing Raiders of The Lost Ark and the rest is history.

I think it's inevitable that he's going to be recast. Much as I love Ford and the character, I think the only way for the franchise to do something new and be relevant would be with a new actor and new stories.

If they casted Bradly Copper then I feel like he could come off as Nathan Drake from Uncharted

Funny because Uncharted was inspired by Indiana Jones but Cooper, the way he acts in some films and his voice in small ways kind of reminds me of Nathan Drake. Apparently he was who Neil Burger was going to cast when he was the director of the Uncharted film.

I would like this to be a new timeline however, a one where Kingdom of the Crystal Skull NEVER HAPPENED.

I think Cooper could handle the intelligent Jones closer to Ford than Drake. Check out Limitless.

Bradly Cooper as Nathan Drake? God I hope not. Only Nathan Fillion can fill the shoes of Drake.

Not really. Nolan North could do a good job if they give him a chance.

He might not have star power but he is Drake

The thing is Fillion, in terms of the average Hollywood audience, is a no name like Nolan North, he might be well known to people who watch TV because he's been in Firefly and Castle but to Hollywood he's in the same category as Nolan North.

So in my opinion if thats the case Sony may aswell give the man who brought Nathan Drake to life a chance....along with Richard and Emily. Get the villains to be played by big stars for promotional materiel.

"I would like this to be a new timeline however, a one where Kingdom of the Crystal Skull NEVER HAPPENED."

Whoa. Hold your horses there. Crystal Skull may not be a Top 5 Greatest Films Of All Time like Raiders, but it was definitely an Indiana Jones movie and gave us that warm feeling. You can't just exclude a part of the overall story cause you 'just don't like it'.

yes cooper would be a good choice,

This is about the same as casting someone to replace Arnold Schwarzenegger for the Terminator series!

Like Kingdom of the Crystal Skull some people wished Terminator 3 or even salvation never happened!

Some say Nathan Fillion "Which is a good choice" but I think they should get the same actor who will play Han Solo just like it was Fords first break out role?

I think things would stick better if they did it that way?

I love the way they never think these things through. So you want to have a revolving door of actors portraying Indy? OK, but that's not going to work the same as Bond - Bond is relevant to the times (they also have hinted that the 007 title is just a moniker for their top agent). Indiana Jones is set during a very specific time period. He is a very specific character. It doesn't quite work the same way as Bond!

Also, Karl Urban.
