Bane returns as James Bond.
"how am I to drink my martini through this mahsk?"

well there was that rumour about him doing the script and so forth for the next 2 bond films, with how he takes the realistic approach to a fiction film it can only serve to do wonders for a franchise thats already real ish to begin with

For as much as I like Nolan, I don't want him directing Bond. He doesn't have the sensibilities IMO. The guy is good at what he does, but he can't do it all. Just as I wouldn't want Spielberg directing the Hangover, I wouldn't want to see Nolan on a Bond flick.

dude, Nolan's on a roll! The guy hasn't directed a single bad film! Not even Spielberg has such a record... And beside, from the recent Bond movies only the first one was good. =/

Doesn't have the sensibilities? Batman and Bond are pretty similar in essence. Especially the way Nolan did Batman. Comparing it to Spielberg doing The Hangover is bad comparison. You're talking about switching genres there. Bond is an action franchise. Nolan has proven time and again that he absolutely excels with action sequences. Not to mention he's great with practical effects (which is something sorely missing these days and something Bond needs for its action sequences--like Skyfall did).

"Good at what he does"? You don't think he just does sci-fi/fantasy movies do you (given his last few movies)? He had much more grounded/realistic films before the Batman movies and Inception. But again, Bond is just Batman with a different tone and not as comic book-y. So, while Nolan isn't the broadest and hasn't done anything like comedy or horror, he has proven he's good with thrillers, mysteries, drama and most importantly in the case of Bond, action.

That being said, he won't do it. He has his hands full with Interstellar.

I think you're shoehorning Bond into a similar category as Batman and oversimplifying everything the character represents; they're nearly nothing alike. From their motivations, beliefs, lifestyles, conflicts, personalities, or even thematically, Bond and Batman are about as far from one another as it gets. May as well say that John McClane is like Indiana Jones. And as far as excelling with action sequences, I'd say he's decidedly hit or miss. For one thing, he can't shoot a fistfight to save his life. From the camera work to the choreography, every fight from his entire Batman trilogy was not up to snuff.

As far as his history, I've seen all of his films save for Following, and own them all with the exception of BB & TDKR; I'm very familiar with his body of work and style. That said, he excels with introspective drama and mystery far more than he does action films. IMO, his Batman films can't hold a candle to what he's done in movies like Memento, Insomnia, and The Prestige.

He is indeed on a roll right now as W3L said, but that's part of the problem with his fanbase; they act as though the guy can do no wrong, as if he's this infallible messiah of modern film-making. Personally, I've been disappointed by the likes of Kubrick, Scorsese, and Stone before, so this notion that an acclaimed filmmaker can do no wrong is a bit strange to me.

Nolan is a great director, indeed one of the best around and a personal favorite, but I just don't think he'd be a good fit for James Bond.

Nolan needs to take a stab at horror. Put him and his broand maybe one other person who has done horror, maybe Clive Barker?

A nolan horror movie would be something I'd peg the calendar for.
