Major respect for you! Lynch is one of my favorite aurters!

Lynch does not need to be understood... he applies for the intelligence and feeling of the audience... in a way is rare to see nowadays

I'll never get that movie.

Not a fan. I only needed to see a couple of his works to write off the rest as not being my taste. I've never understood why so many enjoy this guy's works but to each his own. Mulholland Drive was the first film I watched and I just couldn't understand why people would choose to subject themselves to this. Lynch takes characters, builds them up to the point where the audience cares about them and then just obscures their ultimate fates with gibberish, almost as if he couldn't figure out a way to convincingly end the film and just said "Screw you all. I am David Lynch." It was like a cruel practical joke played on it's audience. There was just no logic to it and ultimately it just felt lazy. I guess when you're Lynch, if it's too hard to write a satisfying conclusions, don't bother and people will just say "Oh...it's David Lynch. It's not supposed to make sense." I just don't buy it.

I tried to watch Dune. Just a mess. There's a lot of excellent film out there vying for my limited movie watching time and suffering through Mulholland just to have Lynch thumb his nose at the audience at the end, and witnessing what little I did of the abortion that was Dune, yeah I'll never waste my time with another of this guy's works. Give me a Coen brothers, Spielberg, Kubrick, Hitchcock, Fincher any day of the week. They at least treat their audiences with respect in my opinion.
