Why 3D Sucks (But Hollywood Keeps Doing It)

Carla from Denkiphile: "In 2009, James Cameron’s visually (and nothing else) stunning Avatar (the one with blue people not the awesome cartoon) was unleashed on the world. It was a special effects masterpiece that Cameron meant to be seen in 3-D, and it was earning almost $3 billion at the box office. Not bad considering the plot is basically Pocahontas meets The Smurfs. Plot aside, it was pretty to look at and the movie became the highest grossing film of all time without accounting for inflation. Outrageous for how terrible the actual movie is, but even more outrageous because it began the trend of 3D."
