Whoah! Did not see that coming... altough I did find it rather odd that War Machine was not included in the trailer, so in retrospect, it kinda makes sense... but isnt Iron Patriot a bad guy/villain?...

TheDailySuperHero4079d ago

Since Marvel Studios does not own the movie rights to Norman Osborn (Sony has them), they went with giving War Machine a second suit of armor to wear in Iron Man 3.

Osborn wore the Iron Patriot suit in the comics but Marvel has adapted it for the big screen to Rhodey's other suit.

Its so ridiculous how the rights to characters on screen are sold off to specific studios, when its obvious multiple studios will be working on said characters and stories that we already know intertwine here and there. Its a large undertaking in the first place to squeeze years worth of story into a 2 hour movie without screwing with the continuity. Things like this just throw another curveball into it though. Just my opinion.

I think it's quite good that War Machine has become Iron Patriot. After the Avengers saved the world heroes will be all the rage. The American government will want to capatlise on that by making Rhodey seem like a mixture of Cap't America and Iron Man.

I hope we get to see him wearing the black & chrome armor at some point too because with the big guns and stuff War Machine looks so badass!

CanadianTurtle4079d ago

I don't understand why they couldn't just keep him looking like War Machine. Giving him Norman Osborn's suit just bugs out the fans.

ironfist924079d ago

Gotta give fans something, I suppose.

T3MPL3TON 4079d ago

What are they giving the fans? This is a quick, hay we're including everything for no reason. There is no need to have him in the Iron Patriot suit, the only people who know what that suit is are comic book readers and real comic book readers are just going to be confused as to why they'd do that.

TheDailySuperHero4079d ago

Another suit of armor equals another toy to sell. It's always about money.

TheDailySuperHero4079d ago

Fans need to wrap their brains around the fact that the movie universe will not be exactly the same as the comic book universe. Things you can do in the comics cannot be done in a movie. This is something fans need to just understand and accept already.

hazelamy4079d ago

i'm guessing there'll be a reason for it.
maybe it has something to do with Captain America.

Civil War (2024) Movie Review

In a movie that largely sidesteps what the war is about, “Civil War” puts us in the point of view of journalists who make it clear there are no heroes in war, just dead bodies.
