I thought everyone knew? was one the main reasons why many hated the movie, for leaving questions that will be answered later :) which will then add more questions to conclude on a third movie - or leave it open. It depends on how greedy they get. Heck, they have expereince in resurecting the dead like with Alien 4

You know what they say . . . when an idea "seems" good, milk it dry. The recent wave of two parters should be evidence of that. Its just a money grab, nothing more.

and you are right, that is exactly what it was. a very long prolog. the real movie starts at 2, and the conclusion apparently at 3.
