Keep it animation, as a movie...:) we all know how it ends.

I'm pretty sure they would need to CGI every single human body if Gears would be done in live action.. I just think they won't be able to find any proper actor/actress let alone any living human being which carries those ginormous genes as those in the game.

Then if they would ever decide on full-CGI I would suggest something like those in the CGI-base Starship Troopers Invasion with a mix of Resident Evil Damnation type would be a good design basis.. and simply put all the Gears trademark.

Actually I don't know about that, have you seen the Rock in the Pain and Gain trailer...

I don't know who he would play but you can indeed get him as one of the soldiers -he's super big...

He would fit perfecting as a believable gears of war solider

I don't see how it's gonna work. If they're gonna have ultra buff actors, they'll most likely be wrestlers who can't act for shit (other than the rock perhaps). If they get normal actors it wouldn't feel like gears. If they put a lot of over the top action then the story will be shit, and if they focus on the story then the best part of the gears, the monsters, will get less attention.

Best thing to do would be to pick a very specific event from the universe instead of trying to cover a whole military story. Focus on a handful of layered characters, both good and evil, and make it a horror story with short bursts of crazy intense action.

What would be better is if they started BEFORE "Emergence," Day and have the fight with each other and have them at the end "Emergence," Day happens.

There are a lot of people like Carmine who looked small in the first game that they could hide in helmets.

But that would defeat the purpose if they only show locust at the end. The most appealing thing about gears are the locust, their size, diversity, and encounters with them is what makes the universe interesting. Maybe if they just showed the pendulum war right at the beginning and emergence day right after, then the rest of the movie would focus on a squad going through the havoc caused by emergence day.

A good example is the Halo: forward unto dawn series. They focused on character building first and then just threw in a covenant invasion out of nowhere without trying to explain what they are. We felt the same intensity, confusion, and fear that the cadets felt. I can just imagine a Berserker scene like that.

Spice- You just made my point. Forward had NO Covies at all till the very end so how would Emergence day not work at the end of the movie, heck look at The Hobbit we get this tale about a dragon and we didn't even see it the whole movie till the end.

You also have to remember that before Marcus was in players hands he was in jail for a while while the Locust were fighting so we might see a band of warriors not even related to Marcus at all.

They have to keep it CGI, that way we can expect to see over the top action and I really don't care much in terms of a great story. As long as it sticks the the story line of the game. I mean it's not like the game's story was anything to brag about.
