Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen Join X-Men: Days of Future Past

Long rumored, director Bryan Singer has now confirmed that the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past will mix cast members from his X-Men and X2 with those from Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class. Curses! You got to it right before me Crazay. As far as this news goes, I'm down for it. I just hope the story is strong enough to support the time travel stuff. I loved First Class, and don't want it's reputation tarnished by a terrible sequel.

Sorry buddy. lol

I was so against First Class I can't even tell you but damn it was a fine movie. I'm really looking forward to this. You have to assume that it's going to be a story arc that takes place across multiple movies. They can't do Days of Future Past in 1 2hr long movie.

Yeah, I had about zero faith in First Class. The two X films before it, killed the franchise for me. But yeah, it was one of the best comic book adaptations I've seen, and not just for X-Men.

Definitely good news and it will be interesting to see how they are written into the story.

This sounds to be amazing. IMO First Class really made the x-men movies great considering how horrible the trilogy was, although the first was decent. Lets hope this continues to impress

Let me tell you, when Brian Singer loves your ass you stay working. Why oh why is he doing this. The WHOLE idea was to start fresh. Instead he insists on bringing these guys back. I loved them both dearly, but I would much rather keep the younger cast and move forward.
This unyielding mind on Brian's will be his undoing.

He is keeping the younger cast, but also bringing back the other cast.

shadowraiden4158d ago

you dont get the point of this though.
they are clearly going towards a new fresh version on the xmen story and this includes what will happen later on.
The reason why he has brought those 2 back is because they are both amazing actors and played their roles no matter how bad the films were brilliantly and so who else is better to play the old versions of the characters then those who have experience acting them.

In no way will these be playing them in the same roles they had during the other films they will be playing them to this xmen story which is a complete reimagining of the comics.
