Geek Binge: Bryan Singer is such a strange director, to the point where I wonder if he’s even a good one. Well The Usual Suspects is a masterpiece, the film’s success is mostly due to its amazing script. Apt Pupil was meh, and the first X-Men was just decent. But X-Men 2 was great, and still remains one of the best comic book movies ever made. But after X-Men 2, Singer took a turn for the worst, delivering a bunch of mediocre films like Superman Returns and Valkyrie. And next March, he’ll be back in theaters with Jack the Giant Killer. Is it any better than his recent efforts. Sadly…no, not really.
