My vote goes to JJ Abrams, I've absolutely loved almost everything he has done. He has created universes really well, and above all else he made Star Trek somewhat interesting to me.
Other than that I'd go with Joss Whedon because lets face it....he made the best superhero movie to date! I'd also not have to worry about it being dark under his belt either, since he a great at mixing serious and comedy together.
