Pixar's Brave Introduces Merida With New Full-Length Trailer

CinemaBlend

After this summer's disappointing Cars 2, Pixar will be back next year with another original story, and one that finally gives the studio a female heroine to follow. Brave, a kind of fairy tale set in the Scottish highlands, is set for release on June 22 next year, and Apple just premiered the first trailer. You can watch it in gorgeous HD over there or embedded below.

I really hope that Pixar comes up with a winner in this one. It looks pretty fun which is what you want out of a Pixar movie.

I really have been waiting on this one just from what I've read and heard so far and now that I've seen the trailer I'm really excited and wanting to see it that much more. I know it will be a big hit. I know that's got to be Billy Connelly behind that voice of the father...I'd know him anywhere.

This looks really good graphics-wise. The story looks good too I mean I've loved everything from Pixar except Cars and I knew Cars 2 was going to be terrible from the first trailer.

Crazay4535d ago

Pixar has a good track record with me too but not only did I hate Cars and avoided Cars 2 like the plague, but Wall-e was so bloody boring. "Wall-e"...."Wa ll-e No!"

Seriously, could that story have been any worse?

pomoluese4535d ago

Oh God I forgot about Wall-e. Yeah I didn't really like that one either, it had some funny moments.

When we went to see it my aunt feel asleep. She said she'd fall asleep to "Walleee. Eva" and she'd wake up to "Walleee. Eva" So she didn't think she missed much.

Crazay4535d ago

AHAHAHA!! yup - that pretty much sums it up.

edwest4536d ago

Not excited about this one. Looks ugly and the story is redundant, next.

koouunn4535d ago

as much as i have some of the same feelings with you, i have to give pixar the benefit of the doubt and say it will be good. it looks not half bad, but i dont know

also, it seems like they went to a dreamworks style of animation this time, wats up with that?

edwest4535d ago

It does look very How To Train Your Dragon certainly (plus the presence of Craig Ferguson doesn't assuage comparisons).

The biggest problem for me is the whole 'princess proves herself' story we've seen a million times before (Eowyn in LOTR etc). Why not just do away with that and tell a straight quest with the same character? That would undoubtedly be more empowering.

pomoluese4535d ago

What part looks Dreamworksy? I mean Pixar always has their character look like that.

alycakes4535d ago

I just think it's going to be a cool action packed, and dramatic and funny animated movie that everyone can go see. It's a great story and I know I'm going to see it.
