Then why do people still come back for more if they are that bad???

Humans crave familiarity. But industry are scumbags for pumping this out-article is right, we pay to see it, that's all there is to it

I haven't been to the movies in months, it sucks. Nothing really worth seeing for me.

I want to go, but there is currently nothing of interest. And yet the movies that are there are reporting big numbers.

Thats the thing though. People go pay to see this stuff, so we keep getting it, then a good movie comes, doesn't do as well as this stuff and the new movie gets canned and called a failure. Yet if a "popular name" releases, doesn't do well, then Hollywood just changes a few thing and keeps trying to milk it.

And whats up with putting guns in classic stories?

Die Hard 5 wasn't a bad movie, as B or C-class action movies go... but the problem is, it was called a Die Hard movie in the first place.

Hell... they could've called it, "Prodigal Son In Russia Because He's Actually A Spy" and it would've gotten MUCH better reviews.

Die Hard was dead to me after the fourth one (still can't bring myself to use the actual title). They took what was a great fun action movie with a human being just trying to hold it together in a tough situation, and gradually turned it into a facile superhero film.

They sanded away much of the rough grit that Willis brought to the character, de-fanged him and forgot to bring a menacing villain.

I read in an interview the director John More said something like "This is Die Hard. Any old Sh*t won't do." To which my first response was why are they hiring you, who knocked out the awful Max Payne, as director?

We have to start voting with our feet people. More than that, we need to start convincing others to do the same. If one of your less film savvy friends is thinking of going, stop them. Tie yourself to them like an anchor for goodness sake.

Or this guff will keep getting made. We can't stop all bad franchise movies. But together perhaps we can make them, less awful.
