Yeah, It's so sad that he died right after doing one of the most amazing performances in a movie..

I mean if you just think how big he was about to be, that's a shame, because he nailed that role as the joker...

because of him I became the biggest fan of the dark knight -as I'm sure many people did- I thought he did the role so well that the movie will go down as one of the greatest movies of all time..

He nailed it, and made the batman movie unforgettable...

R.I.P Heath Ledger, for you my friend will indeed be missed...

He's the only celebrity whose death actually moved me a little.

I still consider his Joker role to be the best acting I have ever seen. RIP.

I am disappointed that they threw away the joker character in Rises. I simply don't think they need to do that every time some one passes on (or when they can't get an actor to return). Joker in the Dark Knight series had proven his point (unlike the source material of the concept, Killing Joke)....that BEGGED for him to be a part of the uprising.

Sigh.....well, whatreya gonna do?

Ledgers death rocked Nolan big time. He didn't want to do a third movie because of it.

Even if he was alive, they would of gone with bane.

Point: Scarecrow.

They wouldn't have completely ignored Joker.

MRHARDON4100d ago

I would imagine if Ledger was alive, he would of been in the new movie. Bane would probably would be checking in with the Joker once in awhile and maybe even the Joker would work with Bane to destroy the city.

That joker role has to be in my top 5 proformences of all time.

Did Heath Ledger Get His Inspiration For Joker From Tom Waits?

Few performances are as memorable as Heath Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight, a role which earned him a Best Supporting Oscar. While he might have drawn inspiration from other dark places too, this one particular 1979 interview (on the Australian talk show The Don Lane Show) must have been high on his list of influences.

Actors Who Shut the Naysayers with Their Performance

While some actors are natural choices for some roles, others needed some convincing with the audience. Daniel Craig, for one, was not the most popular choice as James Bond when he was cast. But he did such a brilliant job that he is leaving a legacy that’s hard to follow. With him, here is a list of actors who were unlikely choices for iconic roles but turned in stellar performances.
