CW Warner Bros. Explores Casting The Lead In Wonder Woman Origin Project-Meet Iris

Deadline:
To all actresses in their early to mid-20s who are 5’8″ or taller — you may be TV’s next Wonder Woman. I’ve learned that Warner Bros. TV, the studio behind the CW drama project Amazon, has hired a casting director to launch a search for the lead in the project in anticipation of a potential pilot pickup. A breakdown for the role has been released, providing a glimpse into the Tarzan-like fish-out-of-water premise and the central character of the Wonder Woman origin story written by Allan Heinberg that chronicles the female superhero’s life as a young Amazonian, before she becomes a warrior princess with super powers.

I didn't even know they were going ahead with this.

with the arrow and this, it seems they are really trying to get the justice league movie underway with some backstory in to a few more characters

Well knowing CW's tendencies to cast excellent female actors based on acting skill rather than looks I think its safe to say this show will be fantastic. As long as they don't give it the smallville treatment and make it into a teenage version then it should be fine.

I don't know if this really has a lot to do with the Justice League. more or less its DC allowing their assets to be used, and CW has that relationship.

I can't reply to anyone, sorry if it seems off topic.....

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. I know where they're going with this show, but it makes no sense to go there.

Smallville made sense...at least until most of the show was in Metropolis. Either way, the show was good but it was nothing more than a 10 year tease of Superman. I really wanted to see how the suit fitted Tom Welling at the last minute of the show because I feel the audience earned to see that. But it never happened.
