"Hobbit" Farm Had Animal "Death Traps" That Killed As Many As 27

CBS

Animal wranglers involved in the making of "The Hobbit" movie trilogy say the production company is responsible for the deaths of up to 27 animals, largely because they were kept at a farm filled with bluffs, sinkholes and other "death traps."

Sounds to me like there were some liberties taken at the expense of a few animals. Not cool at all.

Crazay4168d ago

Really?!?

Someone disagrees with the "Not cool"? ***facepalm***

If you disagree that taking liberties at the expense of an animal for the sake of saving money and for a movie, man up and justify that.

Dogs getting to chickens (Google "Dog climbing fence"), horses injuring themselves, and animals dying from natural causes (as confirmed by VETERINARIAN, not a trainer's hunch) is barely "taking liberties". And they went on to spend hundreds of THOUSANDS of dollars on changes because some horses injured themselves.

I blame those damn hobbits.

Double_O_Revan4168d ago

I guess this movie wont have the disclaimer during the credits "No animals were harmed during the making of this film."

I'm okay with this, as long as the movie is great!

Crazay4168d ago

That's a pretty disgusting way to think.
